Your Stay

 

Checking in and out

Your weekend starts at the Art Museum site, 170 Riversdale Road, Illaroo NSW 2540.

Check in from 11am at the Information Centre. 

Check out is by 11am on Sunday. You are welcome to stay on site all afternoon after checking out of your room. 

 

Parking

There are two carparks for guests and visitors located at the entrance to the site, one either side of the road.

Drive all the way up to the Art Museum drop-off circle. You can park here for 15 minutes while you check in and drop off your bags at the Information Centre, then please move your car to the carparks. Accessible parking is also located at the Art Museum.

 

Getting here

Bundanon (Art Museum, The Bridge and Boyd Education Centre site) is located at 170 Riversdale Road, Illaroo. Keep an eye out for the Bundanon Art Museum sign at the corner of Princes Highway and Illaroo Road. If coming from Sydney, turn right at the lights before the Nowra Bridge.

When you get to the large red Bundanon sign, turn left to go to the Art Museum site.

Please note that some GPS systems do not have Bundanon in the correct location. We recommend using either Google or Apple maps if possible.

The historical Homestead site is located at 533 Bundanon Road, Illaroo NSW 2540. It is a 20-minute drive to the Homestead, part of the drive is on an unsealed road.

 

What to pack?  

The bedrooms on the Bridge and in the Boyd Education Centre are small, cabin-style rooms, simply designed and minimally furnished. With limited space in the bedrooms, guests are encouraged to travel light. 

Towels, bedding and body wash are provided in your room, but please bring anything else you might need including:

  • Other toiletries: shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste
  • Insect repellent
  • Walking shoes if you intend to go bushwalking
  • All weather clothing: warm clothes, hat and sunscreen, a raincoat and wet weather gear
  • Water bottle
  • For light-sensitive sleepers: bring an eye mask, as some light enters the room
  • Hair dryer, if you need one

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable.

 

Wifi & Mobile Reception  

Bundanon is in a remote location and mobile reception is limited. There is an emergency phone available for guests if needed.

Wifi is available, however it can be patchy in some rooms. Wifi login details can be found in your welcome pack.

 

Ramox Cafe & Art Museum

Ramox Cafe is open 10am-6pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday, serving coffee, cake, lunches and snacks.

The Art Museum is open 10am-6pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday during your visit and guests have free entry throughout the weekend. The Homestead site is also open 10am – 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

 

EVENT ORDER

Join us for a full weekend of free events in celebration of the opening of Bundanon’s new exhibition bagan bariwariganyan: echoes of country.

A celebration of this place and local traditions, join in the opening festivities of this significant exhibition with talks, artmaking and weaving workshops, and special performances from leading First Nations musician Alice Skye, and intergenerational Yuin choir Djinama Yilaga.

Artmaking for all ages with Megalo Print Studio and Bundanon’s Learning Team.

10.30am – 11.30am | Weaving Workshop
Learn traditional weaving with Uncle Steven Russell to make a piece of jewellery.

11.30am | Welcome & Official Opening
Welcome to Country and opening speeches.

Experience a performance by South Coast First Nations choir Djinama Yilaga.
