Pickling and Fermenting
With The What If Society

This event is sold out.

Learn pickling with Chef Eilish Maloney from The What If Society.

Whether you are a beginner or looking to level up your pickling skills, this workshop will guide you through the magic of transforming seasonal produce into long-lasting, flavour-packed preserves.

You will learn the essentials of pickling, from understanding how vinegar works to matching it with the perfect produce. Eilish will cover a variety of techniques, from quick pickles to slow ferments, plus safety tips to ensure your creations are safe and delicious.

Throughout the workshop, you will make two seasonal pickles and a third using odds and ends from the fridge. Expect plenty of tastings and ideas on how to enjoy your pickles all year long, along with loads of helpful information to kickstart your pickling adventures.

Eilish Maloney

Born and bred in the heart of the Southern Highlands, Eilish’s passion and natural culinary skills surfaced early whilst working at Onesta Cucina, when just 17, where she completed her apprenticeship.

In 2020 Eilish launched her own business, The What If Society. Everything offered is made inhouse. A food focused cooperative, working with local suppliers to live and educate each other on full circle living.
