Bundanon

Flora and Fauna

Arthur Boyd famously said you can’t own a landscape, but spent his life capturing its flora and fauna for eternity in his paintings, drawings and ceramics.

In addition to their artistic legacy, the Boyds worked tirelessly as conservationists and environmentalists to preserve the landscape at Bundanon in trust for the Australian people.

Just launched is a new exhibition in the Upstairs Gallery at the Bundanon Homestead that gathers together a diverse range of works by Arthur Boyd, other Boyd family members and artists in residence who have experienced the wonder of Bundanon and documented it in their own way.

The exhibition includes works by Arthur and Merric Boyd and Sidney Nolan combined with examples of alumni of the Bundanon Artist in residence Program including Hossien Valenemesh, Jan Hendrix, Maria Fernanda Cardoso, Kristen Headland and Sarina Noordhuis.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
