Zól Bálint is Melbourne based musician, Zoltan Fecso.
Having designed an instrument to bridge acoustic and electronic performance, Zól creates earthy, guitar-driven electronic music. His highly improvised live shows combine guitar playing with electronics to manipulate sounds in real time
Since working with luthier Ian Noyce and the completion of his hybrid guitar in early 2014, Zól has performed his unique live sets at Strawberry Fields Festival and at Arts Centre Melbourne, lectured at the Box Hill Institute of Music and the Melbourne Ableton user Group, won a ‘Best Tech with Launchpad’ award from Novation Music, as well as being invited to present and perform at STEIM Amsterdam as part of their 'Sessionview' Series and presented at Point Blank Music Academy in London.
In 2016, Zól released his debut EP 'Lane Splitting'.
"...one listen to his new EP, Lane Splitting, will have you lost in a world of organic, densely layered productions that brings to mind artists like Shigeto, Tycho & Bonobo." - Pilerats
"Wonderfully composed and tastefully blended together... Lane Splitting is great, and remarkably difficult to pin down in 2016." - Eucalypt
During his Bundanon residence, Zoltan will be exploring writing techniques on a new body of work and developing his live performances.
