Tania's art practice involves a cross-over of many different mediums; charcoal, ink, paper sculpture and animation.

2014 RESIDENCY

While on residence Tania will develop a series of new works on Paper that contain innovative drawings and sculpture's concerned with neurological condition's The series of drawings will be concerned with an extensive traditional study of:neurological pathways that we create within our brains;the original and unique patterns that are captured through variant mediums such as MRI's;and most importantly the correlating formations within nature and a complex human mind. This new body of work will be exhibited in Sydney and Paris in 2015.


2013 RESIDENCY

While on residence at the Bundanon Trust, artist Tania Mason will be commencing a series of new ink and charcoal 'works on paper'. Mason's series of drawings will be a study on traditional performance based practices; Ballet, Theatre and Dance. Mason will be undertaking a study of a performance works by The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance and Sydney Theatre Company in 2012/13. Mason aims to research and develop a series of new works during her residency concerned with the exploration of traditions, inspirations from other arts based mediums, impactive influences relating to the customs of ‘performance’ via a conduit of visual arts. Mason's new works will develop her fascination with narratives through movement and costume, confirming an existence of a dialogue of history and language, combining conceptual art and the traditional processes of making art, within her art practice.

By developing a series of work in a regional environment, Mason is hoping to take her art process to the next level, combining aspects of drawing, installation and animation. Work which was previously initiated while on a residency at Hill-End will be explored and elaborated on and hopefully completed during the residency at Bundanon.
