Fiona Wright is a writer, editor and critic from Sydney. Wright’s first collection of essays Small Acts of Disappearance won the 2016 Kibble Award and the Queensland Literary Award for non-fiction, and was shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Prize and the Stella Prize.

During her residency Wright worked on a new collection of essays about illness and ‘wellness’, and the assumptions, histories and social pressures that underpin them. The collection of essays focused on the narratives and metaphors that inform our cultural understanding of medicine and the body.
