Danielle Barrie

Art Forms: Jewellery, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2018

Lives / Works: Adelaide, Australia

Danielle Barrie is a South African born jewellery and object-maker. Her work often evokes a cartoon-like sensibility which she couples with complex technical features; these contrasts act as a major source of inspiration in her work. Using traditional silversmithing techniques coupled with industrial processes, such as powdercoating, Barrie aims to produce work that is well-made and intricately designed whilst still maintaining a sense of humour and playfulness within each piece.

During her time at Bundanon, Barrie researched, developed and prototyped a new collection of bespoke bridal and engagement rings, earrings and hair pieces. The result was her ‘Precious Ring Collection’.
