Ali Cobby Eckermann is a proud Yankunytjatjara/Kokatha woman. Her first collection of poetry little bit long time was written in the desert and launched her literary career in 2009. Her works have been published in various languages, and she has travelled widely to showcase Aboriginal poetry overseas.

Eckermann was the Red Room Poetry Fellowship winner. During her residency she ran poetry workshops with local school students responding to the Bundanon environment.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
