Agnes Tyson

Art Forms: Sculpture, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2018

Lives / Works: Sydney, Australia

Agnes Tyson is a Sydney based visual artist. Place is a central motif in Tyson’s work highlighting her interest in architecture. Her work frequently features significant milieux from childhood and her adult life spent in Europe, Asia, and Australia. Some works are executed on a large scale with the aim of encouraging viewers to physically engage with the work. A defining character of her work derives from her particular integration of collage into the painting and drawing process. This process provides a means of simplification as well as adding a kinaesthetic element to her work.

IN RESIDENCE 2015

Tyson used her time at Bundanon to explore a defining character of her work: the integration of collage into the painting and drawing process. This process provides a means of simplification as well as adding a kinaesthetic element to her work.

Tyson was also in residence at Bundanon in 2018
