Artists in Residence

Our Artist-in-Residence program is open to professional artists and thinkers from all disciplines, individually or in groups. We support new work, research and collaborations by Australian and international artists, and we host them in purpose-built studios on our Shoalhaven River properties on the south coast of New South Wales.

Each year around 350 extraordinary artists are stimulated by their experiences of Bundanon Trust's Artist-in-Residence program.

The program attracts diverse contemporary artists and thinkers from both within Australia and overseas. Located in a rich natural and cultural environment on a working property on the Shoalhaven River, our residencies are an excellent opportunity for artists to refresh, refocus and perhaps make unexpected connections with other artists in residence.

Trouble with being here at Bundanon is the damn computer screen tends to obscure my view of the morning kangaroo ballet.
- Charlotte Wood

We have two sites for artists' residencies: Bundanon and Riversdale.

Most residencies happen at Bundanon in our Artist-in-Residence complex. The complex offers accommodation as well as studio and rehearsal space for up to ten people in single and shared apartments and cottages.

Larger groups are hosted in the Boyd Education Centre at Riversdale, which can accommodate up to 36 people in shared rooms.
