Bundanon

Historical and award-winning architecture

The nineteenth century Homestead, twentieth century farm workers cottages, and world-renowned contemporary buildings, express Australian vernacular traditions of architecture.

Bundanon is renowned for world class architecture: The Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre, by architects Glen Murcutt AO, Wendy Lewin, and Reg Lark was awarded the Sulman Award for public architecture in 1999.

Kerstin Thompson Architects were also awarded the Sulman Medal in 2022 for the Art Museum and Bridge for Creative Learning.

Bundanon’s built environment begins in the 19th century. From a timber hut on the hillside to the 1860’s Homestead, Bundanon’s history as a farm property is still evident in many of the buildings on site, re-purposed and restored.
