Join us for our weekend-long community celebration of free creative programs exploring collaboration and nature.

Celebrate the opening of the new exhibition Thinking together: Exchanges with the natural world with Creative Play for all ages, a Big Jam led by Marley Rooney – bring your instrument and join in, a live set by Filipino and Murrawarri musician DOBBY, divination card readings with Caitlin Franzmann, keynote address by Cudgenburra/Bundjalung man Clarence Slockee (Gardening Australia), artist talks and more.

The Mirritya Mundya food truck will be serving delicious First Nations eats alongside Ramox Cafe and a pop-up bar.

The Big Jam

Saturday 8 March | 2.45pm

Jam with us! In the spirit of collaboration, musicians, vocalists and MCs are invited to sign up on the day to get up and have a play with host Marley Rooney and band.

Marley comes to Bundanon from the Innerwest Hop – a weekly live hip-hop/jazz jam at the Trocadero Room in Enmore. Bring your own instrument, use one of ours, or just sit back and listen.

DOBBY

Saturday 8 March | 3.30pm

DOBBY is a proud Filipino and Murrawarri artist whose dynamic performances blend rapping and drumming in a unique style that embodies themes of collaboration and community, aligning with the exhibition’s exploration of human and non-human connections.

With his powerful lyrics and electrifying live shows, DOBBY’s music amplifies the message of reciprocity, making him a perfect fit for an opening that celebrates communal creation and cultural exchange.

Fortunes of the Forest with Caitlin Franzmann

Saturday 8 March | 10am – 4pm SOLD OUT

Sit with artist Caitlin Franzmann and ask her divination cards your burning question. In each collective card reading, you will be invited to slow down, reflect and build your awareness of nature through 40 unique divination cards.

Each card includes photographs by Man Cheung, highlighting unique qualities of an organism within a forest ecosystem of Eastern Australia.

Burrawong Dhunna Gam Waglpa (Cultural Walk)

Sunday 9 March | 9 – 10.30am

Join local First Nations Custodians Joel Deaves and Jordan Thomas as they take you on a guided walk on Country, sharing local traditional knowledge, language and stories.

This is an immersive experience for people of all ages, learning about the importance of healing Country with the right type of fire, while sipping on a warm cup of bush tea.
