Read MorePerforming artist and director Luigi Vescio creates works for theatres, galleries, digital and outdoor spaces. Deeply invested in movement improvisation, Vescio’s creative practice probes ideas pertaining to memory, authenticity, the accessibility of connection, and the conflicts presented by honest expressions of desire. Facilitating experience and seeking knowledge, his endeavours value the practice of letting go as much as accessing the new.
Vescio was an artist in residence at Bundanon in 2018 with designer Andrew Treloar. Together, they worked on a performance piece utilizing dance, live sound, objects and set. The performance outcome aimed to reflect the rapidly evolving world, revealing the dancers’ bodies relationship to vibrational frequencies, cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and the dissolve of traditional stereotypes of gender.
The work is equally about exploring the relationship between sound and movement, as it is an exploration of the unwavering intrinsic human desire to reach beyond, create the new and ultimately evolve.
