Harry Cook is an Australian pianist, vocalist, and songwriter based in Melbourne. In 2021 he released his debut single ‘All Flaws’ – a chamber-folk inspired song featuring Hannah Cameron. His debut EP is due for release later in 2022. Over the past 9 years Harry has become a highly sought-after sessional musician, performing with various artists including The Teskey Brothers, WILSN, Eliott, and The Outdoor Type. He has toured domestically and internationally, and his playing features on dozens of recordings across myriad genres.
During this residency Harry Cook and Claire Cross will collaborate to develop a new work for their duo project ‘Dialect’. Together they will explore techniques and approaches to bridge their shared musical interests, to create performance vehicles for them to explore the complexities, challenges and joys of sharing both a musical & intimate relationship. Together through sound they will explore unspoken dialogue and build their own language. Interweaving the textures and timbres of the piano and electric bass, the duo will aim to reframe the possibilities of this unusual combination through immersive folk-like compositions.
