Bundanon

Yewande Omotoso was born in Barbados, grew up in Nigeria and currently lives in Johannesburg. Omotoso’s writing is a way of looking; at people, emotions and experiences, particularly those we might be more compelled to hide. She writes about displacement; the kind experienced by immigrants in a foreign land as well as those of us who sometimes feel alien in our human bodies, Yewande writes about loneliness, pains and aches that cannot be explained by the presence of physical wounds and fractures.

Omotoso’s residency was supported by a partnership between Bundanon and the Africa Centre.
