Read MoreValerie Odewahn has worked in the visual arts since the 1970s. She trained in jewellery and silversmithing with Walraven van Heeckeren at the School for Silversmiths and Ernst Pfenninger at the School for Silversmiths. In her own practice, Valerie works predominantly with precious metals inlaid into steel and takes great pleasure in small tool making for jewellery and wood working. Valerie will be joined on this residency with Catherine Rogers.
Whilst in residence, Odewahn worked with photographer Catherine Rogers. Odewahn expanded her repertoire in the technique of ‘micro-mosaic’, experimenting with silver, copper and gold to create a series of hollow forms. In addition, Odewahn created drawings from her large collection of themed newspaper photographs.
Odewahn was also in residence at Bundanon in 2018.
