Samantha Lang is a director/mediamaker/educator and has worked locally and internationally across film, television and theatre.
IN RESIDENCE 2022
Floating/Running/Burning. A moving image work alongside a small monograph of images and poems. This immersive work will build upon the questions around the reorienting the human and the non-human in the Anthropocene – that pervaded Lang’s previous VR & moving image making works. This time she will examine the reductive process of the ‘hyperobject’ that is 24/7 global news cycle and explore how to retain a personal, embodied experience of an event – in the face of its interpretation by the ‘hyperobject’
IN RESIDENCE 2016
In 2016, Lang contined to develop two projects in parallel whilst at Bundanon: Brown Lake and Kill The Messenger
IN RESIDENCE 2015
During her 2015 residency, Lang worked on ‘Faith, Hope and Sugar’ – a progress narrative exploring and challenging the way contemporary representations of ageing and femininity are mediated.
