Bundanon

Spence Messih is an artist based in Sydney, Australia. Their practice speaks broadly to sites of pressure, power structures, materiality and language and more specifically about these things in relation to their own trans experience.

During their residency at Bundanon, Messih expanded on their larger research project looking into how abstraction gives rise to open accounts of gender that exist outside of the gender binary and what does this mean for relations between objects, people and within ourselves.
