George Bolster is an Irish born multidisciplinary artist.

He has exhibited in numerous museums and galleries including: Ulterior Gallery, New York, USA; Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, Ireland; Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, France; and MASS MoCA, North Adams, USA. The artist’s monograph When Will We Recognise Us (Hirmer Verlag, 2023) featured contributions from Seán Kissane, Denise Markonish, Leanne Sacramone, Ian Alden Russell, Sarah Kelleher and Clair Walsh. The artist is the recipient of residencies including: Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, France (2019); Elizabeth Foundation for The Arts, New York, USA (2017); SETI Institute, Mountain View, California (2016-17); the Robert Rauschenberg Residency, Captiva, Florida, USA (2013); and The Firestation Residency, Dublin, Ireland (2012). He has been the recipient numerous awards from the Arts Council of Ireland and Culture Ireland.

In Residence at Bundanon

I intend to film and edit footage for my forthcoming exhibitions at Source Arts Centre, Thurles, and Galway Arts Centre in Ireland, and to continue to gather material in the form of video and photographic documentation of extraordinary landscapes and nature to develop future work from.
