Through funding, collaboration, and shared vision, these contributors help create meaningful opportunities for artists to develop new work, engage with peers, and immerse themselves in the unique environment of Bundanon.
FELLOWSHIPS & AWARDS
BRITISH COUNCIL FELLOWSHIP
The British Council residency supports contemporary arts practice by providing space for artists to experiment, conceive, and develop new work and ideas in the areas of nature-based and rural arts, arts as place-based climate action, creative sense-making for present and future, collaboration between arts and science, culture as an ally in activism, and experiments in futures.
The British Council Fellowship funds a three-week residency for a UK based artist annually at the Bundanon Artist in Residence program. This residency includes a stipend toward the stay. Applications are made through Bundanon’s annual call out on our website here.
Bundanon Fellowship for an Artist with Disability
Bundanon provides a two-week residency including stipend for an artist living with disability or who is d/Deaf.

DOBELL FOUNDATION ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AWARD
The Sir William Dobell Art Foundation was established for the benefit and promotion of art in NSW and annually provides scholarship funding support to a selected visual artist as part of the Bundanon Artist in Residence program.
The Sir William Dobell Art Foundation partners with Bundanon to provide a two-week residency and includes a stipend. Applications are made through Bundanon’s annual call out on our website here.
JMGA-NSW INC. JEWELLERY AND METALSMITH AWARD
The Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia, NSW (JMGA-NSW Inc.) is a membership-based organisation representing jewellery and object practitioners across New South Wales. The JMGA-NSW Jewellery and Metalsmith Award offers an annual two-week residency at Bundanon, including a stipend.

MCCAHON HOUSE X BUNDANON EXCHANGE
The McCahon House x Bundanon Exchange offers emerging visual artists the opportunity to advance their professional practice through an international residency. The program builds upon the creative legacies of Colin McCahon and Arthur Boyd, both of whom were profoundly influenced by the natural environments of these residency sites. Awarded to one artist each year, the one-month residency alternates annually between McCahon House in Aotearoa New Zealand and Bundanon in Australia. Expressions of interest are by invitation only.
MEROOGAL WOMEN’S ART PRIZE
The Meroogal Women’s Art Prize is a regional, non-acquisitive competition and exhibition presented by Museums of History New South Wales. Open to women aged 18 and over residing in NSW, the prize accepts works in any medium. First prize includes a residency at Bundanon.

WILLIAM FLETCHER FOUNDATION AWARD
The William Fletcher Foundation exists to assist the development and advancement of talented artists in need, to further the cause of art education in New South Wales, and to remember and honour the artist William Fletcher. The William Fletcher Foundation residencies are awarded biennially to Australian resident, mid-career artists.

SECTOR COLLABORATORS
ACCESSIBLE ARTS
Accessible Arts is the peak arts and disability organisation in New South Wales. It works to advance the rights of, and opportunities for, people with disability or who are d/Deaf to develop and sustain professional careers in the arts and to have equitable access to arts and culture across the state.
Through its collaboration with Bundanon, Accessible Arts offers a one-week creative and career development residency for five (5) artists with disability or who are d/Deaf from NSW and the ACT. The selection process is managed by Accessible Arts.

AUSTRALIAN PLAYS TRANSFORM
Australian Plays Transform (APT) is Australia’s national play development and publication organisation. APT seeks new voices for new times, develops plays that change the national story, links them to production, publishes them and promotes them round the world.
APT’s annual Australian First Nations Playwrights Retreat at Bundanon supports Australian First Nations playwrights (or writers who are looking to expand their practice into playwrighting) who have a new script idea they would like to spend some time working on intensively. The retreat offers a week long opportunity to do this with the support of a cohort and onsite dramaturgs. The selection process is managed by APT.

AUSTRALIAN THEATRE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Australian Theatre for Young People is the national youth theatre company. Its iconic National Studio program is dedicated exclusively to emerging playwrights and their practice. Each year, twenty emerging writers (aged 18–26) from across Australia are selected for a week-long residency at Bundanon.
During the residency, participants are mentored by leading playwrights and dramaturgs through masterclasses, small-group tutorials, and one-on-one sessions, offering a formative and immersive creative experience.

CRITICAL PATH
Critical Path is Australia’s leading centre for choreographic enquiry, research, and development. It supports choreographers to explore new ways of working, develop new collaborations, and engage in critical discourse around dance.

JamFactory is a unique not-for-profit organisation located in South Australia that champions the social, cultural, and economic value of craft and design in daily life. JamFactory offers an annual two-week residency at Bundanon to a selected ceramicist or jeweller/silversmith, including travel costs and a stipend.

Omega Ensemble
Founded in 2005, Omega Ensemble is one of Australia’s leading chamber music ensembles.
The Composer Accelerator Residency is a two-week residency at Bundanon with a stipend and support for travel costs. This residency is awarded to one composer each year by Omega Ensemble to a participant in their CoLAB: Composer Accelerator Program, a nine-month professional mentorship for four emerging composers. PERFORMANCE SPACE
Performance Space is Australia’s leading organisation for the development and presentation of experimental art. It consistently identifies, nurtures, and showcases new directions in contemporary practice.
Each year, Performance Space convenes a week-long residency at Bundanon, bringing together a group of artists to develop work and engage in creative dialogue, culminating in a symposium. This residency is by invitation only.

SOUTH COAST WRITERS CENTRE
The South Coast Writers Centre is a charity whose purpose is to advance culture by promoting public participation in literature. This week-long retreat at Bundanon will allow up to eight emerging or established south coast writers to focus on developing or completing works.
