Bundanon

Ben Lopes is a composer, songwriter and artist currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

His multifaceted practice, spanning from punk rock to indie pop to the avant-garde, culminates in a unique and richly-textural approach to music that pushes and blurs the boundaries of any genre that he approaches.

He is the principal songwriter and guitarist in Sydney post-rock band Supahoney. He is also a founding member of Chaos Collective, an experimental performer/composer collaborative network that aims to platform emerging art music and reconstruct the relationship between audience and musicians through performance, with keen consideration to performance space and audience agency.

In Residence at Bundanon

At Bundanon Ben will work on the development and refinement of an in-progress collection of generative sound works. Ben will be combining field recordings of the Australian landscape with recordings taken on his travels in Italy to explore his Australian-Italian heritage.
