Rosa Mundi

Rosemary Hodgson and Sophia Brumfitt together form Rosa Mundi, presenting early music for voice and historic plucked string instruments. In 2012, they will be touring southern NSW and Victoria.  The concert tour is of a new program, Domestic Divas, which traces the musical journey of women’s music making at home and on the stage.  Domestic Divas is an exploration of songs that women have sung over four centuries.
During their residency Rosemary and Sophia will connect on new musical ideas. The focus will be on women’s chant and medieval music, and forms the basis of a future recording project for the duo – one which juxtaposes women’s chant with intabulations of Marian lute music from the 16th century.
